Welcome to “la Porta di Todi”
Our house is a stage in your journey, a place of arrival and departure for the guests who want a family atmosphere.
Our house is a meeting place open to the curious for art, who appreciates the nature and respects the differences.
Our lifestyle choices
We are certainly no ordinary family: Sergio, Professor of Natural Sciences (Calabrian origin, Roman adoption), Joelle (Belgium), engaged in community life, our son Matteo, 15 years not to mention the fourth member of the family, four-legged Spicciola, our beautiful tiger cat, 7 years old and very gentle and quiet.

Since life gives you only so much time, we decided to leave the province of Rome to live in Umbria, in Todi.
Our B&B is located in the historic center of Todi, a small jewel of Umbria. Todi retains many traces of its past from the Middle Ages, with its maze of winding alleys, its vaulted passages and many doors of forum: Porta Perugina, Porta Fratta, and Porta Romana (where we live) …. Porta Romana is important not only because it was the main gate of the city during the Middle Ages, but again, it is the source of our family project: create a B&B in our own house, which has a special door open to the world!
Our goal?
Create hospitality different from the commonplace, everyday variety; we welcome people from around the world to share their life experiences and exchange views through responsible tourism.
Tourism and Sustainable Consumption
We believe in promoting responsible and sustainable tourism, and a lifestyle that takes into account our impact on the environment. We adopt criteria based on principles of environmental policy in the interest of our family and our guests, and invite them to participate. We practice the collection and use of recycled paper and low energy consumption lamps. We are part of a gas joint buying group. As a means of transportation to better experience and get to know the territory, we favor the bike, train, or bus.

Breakfast is served in the lounge or on the terrace. We use only local produce (organic when possible) or from fair trade to practice social and economic justice. If you wish, we can give you information on organic farms, and on request, we can book your visits to local farms.
